A major new event in a village is promising to be full of family fun attractions and activities.

Bradwell Community Fete takes place on Saturday, June 10 at the Green Lane Playing Fields and will feature a host of different organisations and entertainment.

It features more than thirty different attractions and organisers say it is probably the biggest event to take place in the village in recent years.

The fete will feature attractions along with community groups, craft stalls and local businesses.

There will also be a packed entertainment programme taking place in the main arena.

The Bradwell Community Fete is the brainchild of an organising committee of fifteen residents and aims to replace previous smaller events with something that will appeal to the whole community.

The committee is co-chaired by local businessman David Fowler and the Rev Matthew Price, Curate of St Nicholas Church.

There will be bouncy castles, a giant slide, bucking bronco, a barbecue, ice creams, candy floss, the Barton House ride-on railway, miniature traction engine rides, donkey rides, the Dragon Shield historical battle re-enactment group, and Fritton Owl Sanctuary.

There is also a beer tent, stalls, emergency vehicles on show and a children's fancy dress contest,

The village bowls club will be open for people to come and have a go at the sport and the community groups the WI, Brownies, Scouts, Community Wood, Little Squigglers, Model Railway Club, Bradwell Buds Junior Flower Club, Saturday Superstars will also be setting up shop at the fete.

An arena programme also features Woodlands school choir, Hillside school choir, Homefield school choir, Fay Bedford Dance School and the Tri-Star Twirlers

Mr Price said: 'St Nicholas Church are delighted to be leading the way in organising the fete, but the vision behind it is that it is a fete that is both for and represents the whole of our community.

'We want it to be an afternoon that celebrates all that is great about Bradwell and provides a fun and low-cost afternoon for the whole community.

'We'd particularly like to thank the parish council for permission to use the Green Lane Playing Fields.'
