The festive hunt was the second organised by charity North Walsham Play - with 250 families finding clues and solving fun riddles left by the Easter Bunny.

The event raised £1058.20, which will go towards building a new £90,000 play park at the site.

Matthew Smith, North Walsham Play trustee and founder, said he was delighted with how the day went.

He said: “We want to provide affordable family friendly events that everyone can access and enjoy whilst at the same time putting all the money raised back into the local community. We’ve had a great month in terms of donations and grants and are moving ever closer to our target amount.”

Barry Hester, town councillor and trustee of the charity, said: “I would like to thank the people of North Walsham for making this another successful event for the town.”

Children left with goodie bags full of Easter treats, sponsored by North Walsham Community Shop and Carl Bird Ltd.

As well as the Easter trail, there was face painting, balloon modelling from Twist ‘n’ Shape by the Sea, refreshments and Easter raffle.

North Walsham Play has also been awarded a grant of £10,502 from North Norfolk District Council’s Big Society Fund for the new play park, and there have also been pledges of £5,000 from the Hobson Charity and £500 from Interconnector.

The charity hopes to have its fundraising completed by the end of the year.
