As Fakenham wakes up to the aftermath of its most destructive fire for centuries, we want to hear your accounts of this market town’s day of drama, and how the blaze has affected you.

The former Aldiss department store, which had been home to the Original Factory Shop in recent years, is in ruins this morning after what has been described as the town’s biggest blaze since Tudor times.

The landmark building will need to be demolished, changing the townscape forever and causing misery for businesses and householders in the Market Place.

Fire crews rescued two people, homes were evacuated and the congregation at Fakenham Parish Church feared the flames may spread to their 14th-century place of worship.

Were you among those affected? We’d like to hear what impact the fire had on you, your home, or your business. We’re also interested to read more first-hand witness accounts of how the drama unfolded in Fakenham yesterday.
