Fraudsters used fake bank notes in shops and pubs in Diss over the Christmas period and police are warning retailers and businesses to be vigilant.

A number of counterfeit £20 notes were used in shops and pubs in the town.

PC James Stables said: “I would urge shop staff to carry out basic security checks and make use of the ultraviolet scanning equipment which many premises have to check the authenticity of bank notes.”
