Fadlos set to bring festive fun to Fakenham Community Centre
17:05 18 November 2014
It’s nearly panto time! Oh yes it is!
And in Fakenham that means rehearsals are well underway for light operatic company Fadlos for their pre-Christmas treat Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp.
The pantomime runs from December 2 to December 6 at Fakenham Community Centre and tickets are now available.
All evening performances are at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
Seats cost between £6 and £7.50 from the RSPCA shop, 9a-11a Norwich Road, 01328 258475 Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am-4pm.
Fadlos have also confirmed their 2015 productions - Grease which will be performed in May and Phantom of the Opera by Fadlos Kidz.
The musical is a show the society has wanted to do for many years but due to original songs being unavailable and an age restriction they have not been able to bring the popular show to Fakenham.
But now after many telephone calls and the age restriction being dropped they are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity.
There are a lot of characters but the group hopes that there are plenty of young people out there interested in musical theatre who would like to come forward and be involved.
Fadlos was set up 45 years ago in Fakenham performing plays with local people.
After five years they were invited to become the resident in-house theatrical group at the newly-built Fakenham Community Centre.
Thirty years passed by, members came and went and Fadlos Kidz was created to give the youngsters an opportunity.
Fadlos have traditionally produced one musical and one pantomime each year.
They have won three NODA awards for best musical.
Fadlos Kidz were also victorious in the 2014 Bernards Matthews Youth Awards, which were run in association with the Times’ sister title the Eastern Daily Press.
The group won the arts award for inspiring young people.
It was presented to them by Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington.
Fadlos welcomes new members for any show, on stage, front of house, backstage or making tea.
Fadlos has always been about fun, meeting new people and working together to create something everyone can be proud of.
