Retired policeman Mr Nash is a former mayor and will contest the Cromer ward seat left vacant when another former mayor, Keith Johnson, died in December.

Mr Johnson shot dead his wife, Andrea, in a neighbour’s driveway at Compit Hills, Cromer, before turning the gun on himself.

Cromer branch chairman John Lee said: “ I am absolutely delighted that Tony has put himself forward and been chosen to defend this seat for us. He is a well known Cromer man and has a long history of working hard for Cromer.”

The election will take place on Thursday February 21.

Nominations must be received no later than noon on Friday January 25. They should be submitted to the returning officer at electoral services, NNDC, Holt Road, Cromer, NR27 9EN.

Make hunting with beetles legal. Liberal Democrat ex-foreign legionnaires party. Disillusioned with current candyfloss levels group. Hope this information will enable voters to begin their personal consultation processes.
