A fresh consultation has been launched after new information relating to the proposed King’s Lynn incinerator was submitted.
Norfolk County Council is seeking views specifically on the extra environmental documents applicant Cory Wheelabrator has supplied at its request.
The consultation will run until June 5 and it is not yet known when the “energy from waste” plant, at Saddlebow, will be discussed by the council’s planning committee.
Graham Plant, cabinet member for planning and transportation, said: “As our planning officers have gone through the process of thoroughly scrutinising this lengthy and detailed application they have required further information and clarification on a number of points.
“Recently planners asked further, very specific questions of the applicant relating to local habitats and as a result additional information has been received.
“It is only right that we put that detail in the public domain and ask for any comments on it. As they have gone through the scrutiny process planners have refined down the number of points requiring clarification to a remaining few.
“We have already heard many opinions and those views remain valid and will be taken into account. During this period we are keen to hear views relating specifically to this additional information and views on this extra detail are welcome.
“This is a very complex and detailed application and requesting further information from the applicant was always a possibility and is not unusual with such applications.
“We always said we would be nothing less than thorough in our scrutiny of this application and that continues to be the case.”
A copy of the application and the extra information will be available at www.norfolk.gov.uk/willowsplanningprocess.
