An anti-fracking protest has taken place outside a company’s Great Yarmouth site that provides transport services for the oil and gas industry.
The peaceful protest outside the Lubbers Logistics Group site on Thamesfield Way on Yarmouth Industrial Park saw two women carry out what they called a slow walk demonstration in front of lorries leaving the industrial estate.
The women, who did not want to give their names and just said they were from the UK, claim that Lubbers helps to supply the fracking industry.
One of the women involved said that they were walking in front of lorries at a snail’s pace to try and make Lubbers Logistics Group reconsider its stance of supplying fracking companies.
She added she was against fracking as it leads to pollution and is toxic to the environment.
Lubbers Logistics Group would not comment on the peaceful protest.
Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside.
