A puppy that was found dumped in a bush in Downham Market after being given as a Christmas present is set to be rehomed.

As reported, Snoopi was discovered with a sign on him saying, ‘Please look after me as my owner doesn’t want me any more. I’ll try my best to keep you happy. My name is Snoopi’.

The puppy was found by a passer-by in Bennett Street on January 27.

Alongside the 14-week-old, black and white dog was a selection of brand-new equipment needed to look after a new dog – including a bed, dog food, dog training paraphernalia and a teddy bear.

The puppy was taken to the RSPCA’s Blackberry Farm Centre in Buckinghamshire.

And an RSPCA spokesman said: “We’re very hopeful that he is soon going to a new home. A family has expressed an interest and we are carrying out a ‘home-check’ before he can leave the animal shelter.”
