Parents are being invited to take their children along to a series of pet care workshops this half term.
The free sessions, run by Pets by Home in Lowestoft, are focussed on how to care for gerbils and will teach children about the five welfare needs which are vital for keeping pets happy and healthy.
Staff members will be overseeing the workshops - part of the My Pet Pals Activity Club initiative - from February 10 to 25, and there will also be the chance for youngsters to meet and greet these small, furry animals.
Pets at Home store manager Tina King said: 'Gerbils are active, sociable and low maintenance, making them an ideal first pet for kids.
'Our free in-store workshops are a chance for Lowestoft's young pet lovers to learn more about gerbils and our staff members will be on hand to offer tips and advice.'
