Goblins, ghosts, ghouls and witches went on the hunt for ingredients to make a witch’s brew, at a fancy dress Halloween trail held at Holt Country Park.

The event was organised by North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) senior countryside supervisor Anne-Marie Gedge, who dreamed up a spooky challenge asking youngsters and their families to help mend a witch’s broomstick by collecting feathers, stones, sticks and leaves as they followed a series of gruesome animal fact boards leading to the witch, played by volunteer ranger Donna Welch.

Children completing the one-and-a-quarter-mile trail were given a treat by the Green Man of the Woods, played by countryside ranger Martin Hope, before trying their hands at pumpkin carving with their families.
