Pat and Rosalyn Meo have lavished care and attention on Lingwood rail station for the last 24 years and are now seeking help from the community to keep the station gardens looking their best.

Pat and Rosalyn Meo have spent more than two decades renovating the Victorian station house at Lingwood rail station, and transforming it into a bed and breakfast. They also branched out into gardening on the station platform, leading to Lingwood being awarded Britain’s Best Kept Station in 1993.

In partnership with Abellio Greater Anglia, they officially took on the role of Station Adopters. Now, with a new area to transform this year, and with Pat recovering from knee surgery, they are looking for an extra pair of hands to help.

The station, on the Norwich to Great Yarmouth Wherry Lines railway line, boasts an array of tubs and hanging baskets. This year, Pat created a new flower bed to the Norwich end of the platform.

James Reeve, from Abellio Greater Anglia, said: “It is amazing what Pat and Rosalyn have achieved at Lingwood. The station is very picturesque and I would like to thank them for their continued support and enthusiasm.”

To find out about helping with the gardens, call Pat on 07711 013736.
