A West Norfolk beach clean will be one of many taking place as part of a national survey monitoring the state of the UK's beaches.
West Norfolk mayor Carol Bower will be joining the Trinity Rotary Club in the Snettisham beach clean on Sunday, March 25, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
They will also be getting a helping hand from members of Springwood High School and King Edward VII School Interactors Clubs.
Mrs Bower said: 'I was delighted to be invited to join Trinity Rotary Club at their beach clean.
'I'm sure we're all aware of the problems discarded plastic is causing for our seas and coastlines, so it's wonderful to see a local community group taking action and doing something really positive to help keep our beaches beautiful.'
The club will participate in the Marine Conservation's Society Great British Beach Clean by recording the findings of a 100-metre section of the beach.
