Police are urging motorists to only drive if it is an emergency, as snowdrifts are leaving West Norfolk roads in treacherous condition.

King's Lynn police encouraged drivers to work from home as Storm Emma is blowing more powdery snow onto exposed stretches of road.

On Twitter this morning, they said: 'We are still receiving numerous reports of blocked roads and bad conditions.'

Updates on train services between King's Lynn and London can be found on the National Rail website.Skaters in the Fens are hoping the freezing temperatures will make the frozen flooded fields in the Welney Wash safe enough to skate on.Roger Giles, of Fen Skating, said: 'The snow is causing a problem, you can't see the weak spots.'

He said those wishing to skate in the area should seek permission from the landowners.
