Emergency service crews are currently on scene at Rymer Point, on Bury Road, after the two vehicle collision at around 10am.

An ambulance crew is treating the victim, a man in his 40s, who had to be freed from his vehicle by a fire crew from Thetford.

An ambulance, response car and the East Anglian Air Ambulance from Norwich Airport were sent to the scene, according to an East of England Ambulance Trust spokesman.

He will be taken to a local hospital by land.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening, but are “potentially life-changing”.

The road is closed while the situation is brought under control.
