Some 640 children plus their parents and family members descended on Gresham’s School for the second event of the Winter School Games.

Youngsters in Year 3 to 6 took part in the competition which saw them run between 1,000m to 1,600m around the field and through woodland at the Holt school.

The county’s first ever Winter School Games kicked off with a skiing competition at Norfolk Snowsports Centre in Trowse on Friday.

Elsewhere, a badminton competition is being held at the UEA Sportspark.

Over the next few days, youngsters will be competing in tag rugby, sportshall athletics, swimming and table tennis.
