A Norfolk festival celebrating young people and the arts has been shortlisted for an award.
Norwich School, which leads the Young Norfolk Arts Festival (YNAF), is in the running for a TES Independent School Award for the annual arts extravaganza.
The school has been shortlisted in the Community Initiative of the Year category and will find out if it has won at an awards ceremony in London on November 27.
Lucy Farrant, YNAF coordinator, said: 'I am delighted that YNAF has been nominated for this prestigious award. The festival represents a huge team effort from many members of the cultural community throughout the county and within the school. I think it is a great example of how many different organisations can work together to achieve something of real benefit to young people in the region. I am very grateful for all the support which the festival receives from each one of its partner organisations, grant givers and other supporters.'
The Young Norfolk Arts Festival was the idea of Norwich School head master Steffan Griffiths and this year celebrated its third anniversary.
Led by Norwich School, it aims to be a festival that is created by and for young people from across the county.
Norwich School created many of the events including a Gala Night at the Theatre Royal and a fashion show at Open, and pupils from more than 100 other schools also took part in this year's festival programme which included everything from theatre to art to music.
This year, for the first time, undergraduate students also took part through the Koons Collaborative which created events inspired by the Jeff Koons exhibition at Norwich Castle, and the festival's film-making teams.
