Staff and youngsters at a nursery set up more than 30 years ago in a parent's living room are celebrating, after the setting gained its second consecutive 'outstanding' Ofsted rating.
Worstead Pre-School, near North Walsham, which caters for 26 two to four-year-olds, was founded in 1987 by a group of mums keen to give their youngsters opportunity to socialise.
Originally called Dilham Pre-school, the group has had a number of homes over the years and recently relocated from Dilham to Worstead Village Hall.
It gained its first Ofsted 'outstanding' rating in 2014 and has since gone on to build on its successes.
In her report, Ofsted inspector Lindsey Cullum praised the group for its 'successful and determined' management team, who provided children with an 'outstanding pre-school experience.'
The staff showed 'passion and enthusiasm', Ms Cullum said, with their 'constant reflection, evaluation and improvement' helping children receive the highest quality care and the best possible outcomes.
Staff focused very strongly on supporting children to acquire the skills they needed for school, while youngsters were found to be 'extremely motivated' to learn, also developing high levels of confidence and independence.
Parents were fully involved in all aspects of children's assessment and learning, the report added, with staff providing a warm and caring environment that supported each child and their family.
Ms Cullum also praised children's 'exceptional' behaviour and good manners, their creativity and the care they show for their friends.
Children, who were 'exceptionally confident and self-assured', were provided with challenging activities that supported and encouraged healthy lifestyles, with the report highlighting youngsters' understanding of eating well and their enjoyment of being outdoors in the pre-school's 'highly stimulating learning environment' .
Worstead Pre-School chairman Michelle Jacques said obtaining an outstanding rating for the second time in a row was testament to the hard work of the staff.
'I am delighted,' she added. 'And I think it shows that Worstead Pre-School is the best environment there is for two to five-year-olds.'
