Thirty-five teams from Bungay High Sixth Form Centre have been taking part in the contest at the school's polished hall for the last two weeks during lunch breaks.

The winning team was crowned today after an intense battle using curling stones on wheels.

A special trophy was designed for the competition, which is set to become an annual fixture on the sixth form's calendar.

Jo Somerfield, deputy head of sixth form, said the competition had brought some light relief for students preparing for exams.

'It was really good and the students that did not take part wanted to spectate during the fortnight. We wanted to broaden students' experiences and encourage more wider participation,' she said.

The winning team was Mark Attenborough, acting deputy head, and year 13 students Fraser Warburton and George Caplin.
