Hundreds of art students have been helping to raise funds for good causes by showcasing their creations.

The Old Art Room in Swaffham, which provides mixed media art workshops and teaches all ages from four to 80, has been taking part in the Norfolk Open Studios event since May 24.

As part of the initiative, which runs until this Saturday, students have been given the chance to exhibit their creativity with a large exhibition show.

The display, held at the old gym of the Old Hamonds Grammar School, features work by 300 students - some of whom have never exhibited their work before.

Many of the students are selling their work to raise money for their chosen charities, including fishing boats for the Philippines, Swaffham and Litcham Hospice and the Quilters’ Guild.

Jane Clark, who runs the Old Art Room at the Old Hamonds Grammar School, said: “The exhibition has gone very well so far and all of the visitors have said it’s a lovely, inspirational show.”

The exhibition is open to the public everyday from 9.30am until 4pm until Saturday.

There is also work from previous City and Guilds students and demonstrations.
