A high school in north Suffolk has been told it still deserves its good rating.

Stradbroke High School was visited by Ofsted inspectors at the end of January, five years after their previous inspection in 2013.

Inspectors said leaders had 'maintained the good quality' of education, and had built upon improvements noted at the time. They said safeguarding rules were 'firmly established', pupils were respectful and behaviour is 'exceptionally good', describing the school overall as 'friendly, inclusive'.

John Axtell, head of the school, which recently joined the Wymondham College based Sapientia Education Trust, said: 'This is a positive report that rightly celebrates the high standards at the school, evidenced last summer by being the second highest achieving school in the whole of Suffolk.

'It is pleasing that inspectors have recognised that we are not complacent and we have continued to improve since their last visit.'

Jonathan Taylor, chief executive of Sapientia Education Trust, said: 'Ofsted recognise the very many strengths of Stradbroke High. They also identify the benefits the school is already gaining from joining a high performing Trust.

'The additional capacity provided through Sapientia Education Trust is recognised as an important factor in enabling the school to become outstanding. I am particularly pleased that our pupils' behaviour and attitudes were rightly acknowledged as exceptionally good.'
