And the weather forecast for “Flingers” is a sunny, bright and warm day as the gates open about 9.30am.

All tickets for the 15th annual event for youngsters aged between four and 14 and featuring fun events about food, farming and the countryside have been sold.

The Spring Fling, which is staged by the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, has been a sell-out success for the past five years.

A total of 5,500 visitors, stewards and stand-holders will also be tucking into a hog roast lunch, which is always one of the highlights of the annual event.

Another popular attraction, the tractor and trailer rides, saw almost 3,500 visitors taking a tour around the showground last year.

Show president Jake Humphrey will also be visiting the Spring Fling and finding out at first-hand about how food is grown and produced.

There will also be displays of livestock, including hatching chicks and turkey poults.

With more than 60 hands-on displays and demonstrations including cows being milked and working heavy horses, the line-up of farm machinery and especially tractors – little and large – is also popular.

Hundreds of children also took away free seed potatoes to grow at home last year.

The Spring Fling, which was launched by the EDP in 2000 with the RNAA, has grown into one of the key fun educational events for youngsters on the showground.

All children have to be accompanied and no tickets will be available on the gate.
