Claire Armstrong, from Norfolk Community Health and Care, NHS Trust School Nursing Team, gathered together a range of health providers for the event at Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston on Tuesday.

Pupils took part in various activities, learned about the role of the school nurse and were given a health book to complete and keep at the end of the day.

The school’s link officer Kate Nichols said: “The afternoon was a great success and the students really enjoyed the event.”

Information stands in the school hall featured healthy eating and how to cook a simple stir fry, healthy sleep, oral hygiene, keeping fit, healthy relationships, stress and anger management, internet safety, smoking and drugs, the HPV Vaccine, abuse and bullying.

The Hearing Care Centre offered advice on ear health and Cecil Amey demonstrated how to keep eyes healthy.

Pupils were also measured and weighed voluntarily and took part in an exercise on how to keep their hands clean by applying a lotion and then looking at the germs under a UV light before they were washed and after.
