Almost 50 children from schools around the county graduated from the Norfolk Children's University, a scheme which encourages youngsters to take part in learning outside the school day.

The graduation, which was held on Monday at Carrow Road, saw 45 children from Alderman Swindell Primary, in Great Yarmouth, Caister Infant School, Old Catton Junior School and the St Mary Federation - including Brancaster, Docking and Sedgeford primaries - celebrate their achievements.

It was one of a string of similar events, which has seen more than 200 children aged five to 14 don their graduation gear this month.

The scheme, which is run by the Norfolk County Council owned Educator Solutions, sees children collect stamps for each hour of learning they complete at clubs and groups. To graduate, they must complete 30 hours.
