A group of primary school children have been given an insight into how newspapers are made after a visit from an EDP reporter.
Year 1, 2 and reception Pupils at Garboldisham Primary School were visited on Thursday by Andrew Fitchett, reporter for the Thetford and Brandon area.
The visit came as the children studied the theme ‘Communication’, which has already seen them look at the journey of a letter, enjoy music that communicates ‘happy’ feelings and consider how blind and deaf people communicate.
Carol McGahan, teaching assistant, said hearing from a local reporter brought the subject to life for pupils.
“They always love having somebody come in a talk to them and having somebody with experience in a job makes it more real to them.
“It helps them to see and hear first hand what the subject is about and it’s great to have someone from the local community come in,” she said.
The school will also be producing articles for its newsletter and learning about how technology can help communication.
