Burnham Market Primary School is staging its biggest Christmas production for more than a decade.
All 123 pupils have a role in the school’s performances of The Pied Piper to audiences of around 200 people.
The shows are directed by teachers Debbie Seymour and Carolyn Major.
They shows are part of a push by head teacher Rachel Stroulger, who was appointed in September, to bring the school into the heart of the community.
She said: “The pupils have worked really hard and have been absolutely brilliant.
“It has been amazing to see how their confidence has sky rocketed. There has been a real team spirit with the staff and students and so much enthusiasm about the show.
“I am really keen to put the school into the heart of the community. We have been involved in lots of projects and have many planned in the future.”
Since the beginning of term the school has held a harvest festival, which raised £220 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, children have been out on a team building trip to the activity centre at Hautbois, the school raised £150 at a Children in Need day, held an open morning, reinstated parents’ evenings and held a maths week.
One of the school’s pupils, Hannah Witney, switched on the Burnham Market Christmas lights last month with actor Cliff Parisi, who plays Minty in EastEnders.
She won a school competition to design a Christmas poster, which is being displayed in shops around the village.
Next term there are plans to hold a literacy week and to work with children’s author Kevin Crossley-Holland, who lives in Burnham Market.
There are also plans to hold a parents’ forum every half-term and to work closely with other schools in the area.
Burnham Market Primary School was rated as satisfactory in its latest Ofsted report, in March.
Mrs Stroulger said: “We will be working hard to stretch the more able learners and to ensure that all pupils know what their next steps to learning are.
“We will also look to do a lot more outdoor learning. The school is based in a beautiful location and we need to make the most of the stunning surroundings.”
