With their team mates cheering them on, youngsters got stuck into a variety of sports at the UEA’s Sportspark.

Years four, five and six competed in the small schools and primary Sportshall athletics, while older pupils in years seven, eight, nine and ten competed in table tennis and indoor rowing.

Younger pupils in years three and four impressed in the key step gymnastics and pupils from special schools from around the county got involved in canoeing, boccia, goalball and badminton.

8-year-old Sophia Walker said that she had “really enjoyed” the Winter Games.

“I have liked what I’ve played, but I like the gymnastics most,” she added.

Paul Hunter, partnership development manager, said that the 2014 games had been “the most inclusive yet”.

He said: “It has been building on the last ones and it is simply getting better and better, and more inclusive.

“We have provided a wide range of opportunities in competitive school sport. Feedback from everyone has all been very positive.”

This year more than 2,300 pupils from around the county fought for their School Sports Partnership.

The Norfolk Summer School Games 2014 will run from June 30 until July 4.
