A village primary school has been given another seal of approval by Ofsted.
Rollesby Primary School and Nursery has been the subject of a short inspection carried out on March 13 with inspector Lesley Daniel saying the school still continues to have its good rating following its last visit in June 2014.
The report says: “The school has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.
“The school is very much at the heart of the community.
“You encourage parents to come into school and get involved with children’s learning.”
It goes on to praise positive relation between staff and pupils and that children enjoy coming to school and staff are encouraging pupils to develop their curiosity and listening skills.
The report also highlights how in 2017 by the end of key stage 2 a higher proportion of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics than in other schools nationally.
The inspector also looked at the nursery provision and said its experienced staff ‘swiftly and accurately assess each child and identify their individual needs’.
To celebrate the report held a special event last week.
Headteacher Louise Hinton said: “The staff were keen for the celebrations to be fun so we organised for Jump Warehouse to deliver a Boogie Bounce session to the whole school from the youngest to the oldest pupils Each child took part on their own trampoline, jumping to the musical routine in special t-shirts provided for the children.
“The day concluded with a tea party on the field and yummy homemade cupcakes.
“The whole school community is proud that we have maintained our ‘Good’ judgement.
“The inspector praised the strong leadership and how outcomes have continued to rise in national standards, as well as recognising that it is a school that is “very much at the heart of the community.”
The Ofsted inspection letter says the school could improve identifying underachievement at the end of key stages 1 and 2, expect high standards for all written work and pupils have enough opportunities to learn about different cultures and lifestyles.
