A Norfolk high school is celebrating after hitting its £10,000 fundraising target to buy a new minibus.
Old Buckenham High School set a target this year of raising the money by Christmas.
They were delighted to announce to students and staff at their end of term assembly that they have managed to reach their target – and in the nick of time thanks to the generosity of the Rose of India Restaurant in Attleborough.
Throughout 2012 the school has been raising funds through various events and activities including a summer fete, grand prize draw, car boot sale, grants from local trusts, donations from individuals and two successful charity days run by the restaurant. In addition, The Rose of India, on hearing that school was £1,500 short of its target, kindly contributed the remaining money.
Police in Norwich have launched an investigation after a woman claimed in a tweet she had knocked a cyclist off their bike.
