Necton Primary School was rated as a “good” school in its latest Ofsted inspection report - an upgrade from its “satisfactory” rating in 2012.

In the report, inspector Joseph Peacock says: “Pupils make good progress, particularly in reading and mathematics, because leaders have successfully improved teaching.

“Children progress quickly in Reception because teaching is good. They are well prepared for Key Stage 1. Throughout the school, teaching is equally good and sometimes outstanding.”

The school was praised for its “excellent” sporting facilities and the pupils’ above average attendance.

Headteacher Graham Steel and his deputy head Carolyn Ruffles were praised for how they constantly look for ways to improve the school and the school governors were praised for the “considerable expertise” they bring to the school.

Pupils are also said to “always feel happy” at the school.
