It is the slogan that has swept the city and now proud Norwich City fans can wear wristbands emblazoned with ‘Keep Calm and Bring On Grant Holt’ thanks to a group of enterprising schoolgirls.

As part of Young Enterprise, a national scheme which helps inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise, 11 girls at Norwich High School for Girls Sixth Form have created a range of fashionable fabric wristbands.

The teenagers came up with the idea after forming their own enterprise Pulse and in their own time have worked on the project, carrying out market research, designing the bands and liaising with suppliers.

They will launch the bands at the Forum Fair on February 25.

Mimi Barr, 17, one of the girls behind the project, said: “When we carried out our research, we found wristbands to be a popular market. People who go to festivals love to keep their wristbands on for months and months.

“We thought we would include the ‘Keep Calm and Bring On Grant Holt’ design as Norwich City are doing well at the moment and Norwich supporters are so enthusiastic and energetic, just like Pulse.”

Pulse is made up of Mimi, Lucy Budge, Ilakiya Guruswamy, Emily Green, Alice Hamer, Amber Hollinger, Emily Howard, Charli Illingworth, Marzana Khan, Isabel Mansfield and Claire Robertson.

Other wristband designs include ‘Stand for something or you’ll fall for anything’, cassettes and ‘My favourite band’ which features of the names of popular musicians such as Ed Sheeran.

Mimi, from Eaton, Norwich, who is studying art, Spanish, geography and maths, added: “Many people have been excited by the idea and they think it’s unique and innovative as well.

“We have all really enjoyed doing it and the opportunity of working as group. Even if you don’t want to do business, the skills we’ve gained will be useful in future jobs.”

Prices range from £2.50 to £3 per wristband. Wristbands can be ordered online from www.pulsewristbands.co.uk and at various events that the girls are attending, including the Forum Fair on February 25.
