Year six student Chelsea, who studies at Mile Cross Primary, submitted one of 12 winning designs in the contest, which is designed to inspire youngsters to recycle more and reduce waste.

More than 300 entries from 13 schools were received in the Norfolk County Council scheme, with half of the winning designs transferred onto buses this week.

The other six will be printed over summer.

Eleven-year-old Chelsea's design includes the message: 'Keep calm and recycle more Norfolk.'

It also features a drawing of an owl, with another message which says: 'Give a hoot, don't pollute.'

She was shown the bus, and presented with a photograph of her design, by Martin Wilby, the chairman of the council's environment, development and transport committee, at the school earlier this week.
