As part of Henderson Green Primary School’s International Week, pupils got the chance to learn about India, China, Australia, Italy and Morocco.

During the week, the schoolchildren, aged four to 11, created artwork, cooked food from the five different nations and had the opportunity to try various types of dancing and play traditional musical instruments, including a didgeridoo, pictured.

The week culminated with the youngsters “travelling” to the different countries.

The Earlham school’s hall was transformed into an airport and the children checked in, went through security and passport control and headed to the departure lounge.

They then travelled to their designated classroom for a special session during which they learnt about another country from their schoolmates.

Teacher Jane Duffield-Bish said: “The children have really enjoyed the cooking and eating what they have made. We hope they have all learnt something about the countries they have been focusing on.”

Pupil Tayla Green, six, who learnt about China, said: “The most fun thing was eating noodles with chopsticks.”
