It was a dream born from an ambitious group of headteachers, and now hundreds of pupils have been able to learn in a unique setting at Norwich Cathedral.

More than 500 pupils, plus visitors and staff, gathered to take part in art activities and a Christmas service yesterday, thanks to £4,000 raised between the schools.

Those that took part were Archbishop Sancroft High, in Harleston, Pulham Primary, Alburgh with Denton Primary, Brockdish Primary and Harleston Primary.

Archbishop Sancroft headteacher Richard Cranmer said each head had wanted the event to happen for a number of years, but this was the first time it had been possible.

“To come to a magnificent building of huge historical importance is significant because most of them would never have set foot inside and it was an opportunity we couldn’t miss,” he said.
