All children living in the village have been given the special coin. One side of the coin features one of the village’s symbols – a leaping deer - along with an Olympic torch and the inscription date of July 5 when the official Olympic flame visited the village.

The other side features the words “Commemorating Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee, sixty glorious years 1952-2012.”

The coins have been funded by Hethersett’s Olympic Committee with support from Hethersett Parish Council.
