The event saw young people rewarded for their academic excellence and their contributions to the school and the community. This year, Caister achieved some of the best results in the school’s history, including:

60pc of pupils achieving the new ‘standard pass’ of grade four or above in English and mathematics

19pc of pupils achieving the top levels 7-9 in English

100pc of pupils being awarded a grade C or above in business studies, music and dance.

As well as strong overall results, there were a number of personal success stories including:

Max Burgess, former head boy, who achieved two grade 9s, a grade 8, 4A* and 3A grades. Max plans to study A-levels and go to university to study medicine

Hannah Belt, Phoebe Bradley and Amy Johnson, who each achieved 9 or 10 A or A* grades or equivalent

Ellie Balfour, who worked exceptionally hard throughout her time at Caister and as a result, achieved above her predicted grades in all subjects

Entertainment was provided by Caister alumni with Jo Wong delivering a piano solo of ‘Valse Lente’ by Oskar Merikanto, while Lucy Cambridge sang ‘Think of Me’ from Phantom of the Opera, and Sean Yates performed ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ from Les Miserables. Head boy, Max Burgess, delivered the roundup of the year.

Marc Jordan, Chief Executive of Creative Education Trust, and Alison Vanner, Head of Year 11 at Caister Academy awarded awards and certificates.

Also taking part in the celebrations were associates from East Coast College, Nexus Training and Fusion Hair, who all contributed to the learning of specialist vocational subjects offered to the students.

Michelle Strong, Principal at Caister Academy said: “Awards evening is always a highlight of the school calendar. Every day, pupils and staff are encouraged to be the best that they can be, and the pupils receiving their awards and certificates are the embodiment of these school values.

Every pupil has worked so hard and deserves this moment to celebrate all that they have achieved. I could not be prouder of them all.”
