The headteacher of Bignold Primary School in Norwich has praised parents for their teamwork and community spirit.
A team of about 25 people, including parents, school secretary Sarah Honeyman and teacher Jo Clitheroe, spent this morning clearing the snow and ice from the Wessex Street school's playground so that it was safe for the pupils to go out and play.
Headteacher Clare Cook said: 'I'd like to say an enormous thanks to everyone for their hard work. It means that the children can now go outside to play for the first time in a week and a half.
'Yet again Bignold Primary parents have shown what a fantastic community we have here.'
The school remained open throughout most of the recent snow, only shutting for one day on Friday.
