A high school has celebrated the opening of a revamped swimming pool it hopes will become a community hub.
Aylsham High School’s pool was out of action for five months for the refurbishment, which was predominantly funded by contributions from developers building in the town.
The total project has cost roughly £500,000 and, while the pool has now officially been handed back over to the school, it will be unveiled to the community in the coming weeks.
Jo Tuttle, who heads up business and community strategy at the school, said it would see resources go back into the school, and would enable students to take lifeguard qualifications.
She said they hoped it would be seen as more than just a pool for the school, with hopes that it will become a leisure hub for the community.
“We think people will be really surprised at the quality and at how it looks - it’s really exciting,” she said.
