Some 65 people from Mendham Close, Malthouse Court and Terence Airey Court in Harleston joined staff and pupils at
Archbishop Sancroft yesterday (Wednesday) for a traditional Christmas dinner.

This was followed by carols and a raffle.

Archbishop Sancroft headteacher Richard Cranmer said: “This is the fourth year we have opened the doors of the school to our more senior neighbours and it has become one of the most popular and memorable dates in the school calendar.

“It is a chance for our year 11 students to welcome and serve our guests with a delicious Christmas dinner prepared by Marie Aldous, our much-valued cook, and her team.

“Watching a lady who has just celebrated her 104th birthday talking to a 16-year-old student about her life when she was a teenager is priceless.”
