Panto season came live from London’s West End for some lucky children at the Vue Cinema in Norwich.
Business and accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), which has offices on St George’s Street in Norwich, had its London production of Aladdin broadcast live at the cinema inside The Mall Norwich.
The cinema link-ups around the country meant that more than 6,000 children, from 59 schools and charities across the UK, including youngsters from Mile Cross Primary School, Cavell Primary School and Barnham Broom Primary School, could share in the fun of the PwC panto.
Craig Douglas, assurance director at PwC’s Norwich office, said: “Our pantomime brings together passionate and talented people from across PwC. Our staff love the chance to show their talents, and also enjoy the development and networking opportunities they get from the panto.
“And most importantly, it’s a chance to entertain thousands of children.
“When you hear their cheering you know it’s going to be a very different day at the office!”
PwC staff from across the UK take part in the show; acting, singing, dancing, designing and producing all the background scenery, props, costumes, programme and community activities over a five-month period.
The PwC panto began originally as a holiday treat for employees and families, staged in the canteen of PwC’s London offices.
It’s now been going for 26 years touring regional cities across the UK as well as enjoying a sell-out week in the West End.
The coaches which took the local pupils to and from the Norwich performance were provided by Norse and Office2Office contributed to the goody bags that kept the children entertained while they were waiting for the show to start.

my 10 year old was one of the lucky children who had the pleasure of watching the panto. he loved it. thank you for putting it on for the local children, many of whom may never normally get to see a panto. it is also a great way to get children interested in the theatre and the cinema :)
