The driver of a silver VW Golf who died in a crash on the A11 has been named.
Ali Ekber Ucar, 34, from Attleborough died when his car left the southbound carriageway at Larling, between Thetford and Attleborough, at 10.15pm on Monday and went down an embankment, through trees and into a ditch.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and the road was closed until 2am on Tuesday while a collision investigation got underway.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Ucar, who worked at the Sea Star Fish Bar in London Road, Attleborough.
Raj Islam, manager of the Rose of India restaurant, which is next to the Sea Star, said Mr Ucar was very popular in the town and worked with two brothers at the family business.
He added: “He was a really nice person, he was always helping people. He was the sort of person that if he saw your car had broken down, he would stop to help out. He was always smiling, I never saw him upset or grumpy.”
London Road resident Betty Drewry said she used to drop in to the Sea Star restaurant once or twice a week to get food, adding: “They were all very nice in there. It is a dreadful shame that this has happened.”
Officers want to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time and may have witnessed this collision, who should contact PC Richard Syrett at Wymondham Roads Policing on 101.
