A driver was taken to hospital after crashing into a ditch near Diss this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the B1077 at Shelfanger at about 1.30pm following the single vehicle collision.

Firefighters from retained stations at Diss and East Harling attended the incident and used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the casualty and made the vehicle safe.

A spokesman for Norfolk Police said the man did not suffer serious injuries and was taken to hospital for a check up.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance was also called.
