A driver has been charged with four offences following a serious injury road traffic collision on the A11 near Thetford at the weekend.

A blue Audi A4 left the road whilst travelling in the northbound carriageway and overturned into trees at around 3.45am on Saturday.

There were four people in the vehicle and a woman passenger was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with a serious arm injury and two other passengers were taken to the West Suffolk Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the Bury Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Martynaz Lenkauskas, 26, of Woodlands Drive, Thetford, has been charged with careless driving, possession of cocaine, failing to provide a specimen of breath at the roadside and failing to provide a specimen of breath in custody. He has been released on bail to attend Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on December 27.
