A driver was injured when her car hit a telegraph pole in icy road conditions near Fakenham earlier this morning.

Two fire and rescue crews from Fakenham were called to the B1355 at South Creake at 5.50am, and removed the casualty from the vehicle using heavy rescue equipment.

A police spokesman said the driver was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

The road was closed in both directions near the Cranmer Turn Off junction for recovery work, but has since re-opened.
