It can travel to any point in all of time and space and has survived missile attacks, extreme temperatures and alien onslaughts.

But the Tardis has fallen victim to some overenthusiastic young fans at The Forum in Norwich this week.

The famous ship from the television series Doctor Who, which takes the form of a British police box, is in the city all week for the half-term holidays.

Standing for Time and Relative Dimension in Space, children have been allowed to play inside the Tardis during its visit, but it seems some may have got overexcited and the doors have been broken.

Staff at the BBC in The Forum said they have now had to lock the doors until they are mended.
