A mystery romantic has proposed to their true love by popping the question on the walls of a Norwich building.

To send a link to this page to a friend, you must be logged in.

“Naomi...will you marry me?” can be seen written in large black letters on a building in the Anglia Square area.

The proposal was spotted by Amanda Bunn today, and she posted this picture on Twitter with the message, “I wonder what Naomi said to this romantic proposal down Anglia Square?”

• Do you know if Naomi said yes or do you know who proposed? Email reporter Emma Knights at emma.knights@archant.co.uk

  • If the owner of the boards wants the damage paid for I'd be happy to donate some cash. Especially if it would stop people saying not very nice things about two complete strangers regarding what was clearly a significant moment in these two people's lives. I'll even pay for some flowers to brighten the place up. Offering an alternative suggestion to the negativity on this forum put forward by the kind hearted people of Norwich, a fine city indeed, I'm almost fully positive it was a small gesture at the end of a lovely night of serenading and happiness and rainbows. Naomi and Unnamed Romantic I wish you all the best, merry Christmas. Glad tidings for all!

  • What a lovely proposal. So full of love and romance. That can must have cost at least TWO POUNDS to make such a thoughtful gesture. I hope she makes you choke on your Stella, you cheapskate. No doubt we'll see you on Jeremy Kyle all upset over getting rejected.

  • Lovely to see how quickly someone can judge a situation from a picture on the internet. Most likely thinking they're better than someone else. Brilliant when you have no idea of the full story!

  • Is the EDP really endorsing this vandalism, or is this a thinly veiled attempt to catch a criminal?

  • Naomi accepted today by throwing a brick with "YES" written on it through her lovers front window. Archant wasn't on the scene to capture the poignant moment but it is expected that a picture from somebody's camera phone will be forwarded soon to illustrate the happy aftermath of the event.

  • Nothing says i love you like badly sprayed graffitti. Anglia square is probably the 2nd most romantic setting in europe only narrowly edged out by Paris.

  • Sadly, she turned him down and decided to shack up with Banksy instead. He should have had a more romantic proposal.Like giving her a cheeseburger with a ring on top.
