The Christmas tree in Diss Mere fell victim to the strong winds lashing the country earlier today.
The 20ft high floating tree, organised by Diss Rotary Club, toppled over as winds of between 50mph and 80mph swept through parts of the British Isles this morning.
Representatives of the Rotary Club, which has floated the tree for the last 20 years, were alerted about the stricken evergreen at lunchtime.
The tree was lit up at the town’s Christmas Lights switch-on last Thursday.
Supporters of Scottish champions Celtic are in Norwich ahead of the Adam Drury testimonial game tonight.
