Barry Bowyer is thought to be in his 40s and works as a member of outdoor staff for Dereham Town Council.

He suffered from a broken collar bone, broken ribs, and a broken leg following the crash on Shipdham Road.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance was called to the scene, in South Green, following the incident involving Mr Bowyer’s blue Suzuki motorcycle at 12.24pm and he was flown to hospital.

The clerk at the council, Tony Needham, said the council hope Mr Bowyer makes a speedy recovery and said those who have spoken to him said he seems upbeat.

But he added that they are not expecting to have him back to work in Dereham for another three months.
