The disruption - which is expected to last until about 8pm - is due to a vehicle hitting a bridge at Needham Market earlier this evening. Some services have been delayed by about 40 minutes.

A statement from train operator Abellio Greater Anglia said: “Train services between Norwich and London Liverpool Street, Ipswich and Cambridge, and Ipswich and Peterborough are returning to normal, but may still be delayed by up to 20 mins at short notice.

“We thank you for your patience and understanding whilst this incident is dealt with.”

  • This is not news. News would be when a train next manages to run on time over this route with all on-board facilities fully functional. Aint gonna happen.
