Time is running out to nominate the people who make a difference in north Norfolk's communities for a special award.

There are just two weeks left to suggest names for the 2012 community heroes awards run by Victory Housing in association with the North Norfolk News - with winners sharing in a 2,000 prize pot.

People have until Friday September 21 to highlight the efforts of those who devote time and effort into making their communities a better place. It could be raising funds for a village hall, running a community play scheme, or doing shopping for house-bound elderly neighbours. The Awards aim to recognise the unsung heroes who exist in every community.

Victory chief executive John Archibald said: 'There have been some great people nominated already in this year's awards, but we are sure that there are still more unsung heroes out there across the north of Norfolk, and we want to hear their stories.'

Nominations should include the name, address and telephone number of both the nominee and the person making the nomination, together with up to a page of A4 explaining why they think the person they are nominating should win.

Entries should be sent to Community Heroes Awards, c/o Victory Housing Trust, Tom Moore House, Cromer Road, North Walsham, NR28 0NB, or via e-mail to sue.willis@victoryhousing.co.uk.
